Winding and unwinding reels in a robust arc-welded steel structure that can be easily manoeuvred by means of a fork-lift. The mandrel shaft is made of tempered steel and supports four self-centring expanding spokes, including eight adjustable and removable strip guides to hold the coil. The mandrel is rotated by a gearmotor with torque limiting device that is adjustable by means of an external screw. The mandrel can either be controlled idle or motorised depending on the need.
The mandrel can be expanded manually with a crank.
If the reel is motorised, it is equipped with an electrical board on the machine. The strip loop is controlled by two contact rollers positioned at the base of the reel to reduce the length of the unwinding loop to a minimum.
